TripSync Announces New Business Travel Itinerary Management Software Features
White Plains, NY (PRWEB) May 30, 2007 -- Portaga has recently released a set of new features for its Tripsync tool that provide unmatched convenience for travelers. Mobile Booking, Book and Hold™, Extras, CC Itinerary, and In-Place Trip Name Editing are all designed to increase the utility and convenience of this free software tool for small business and individual travelers and their administrators or assistants.
Portaga CEO and Founder Robert Kost said, "We've all been there, I've been there -- watching my business plans change and not being able to change my travel without massive hassles. While most online travel tools today are either geared for leisure or corporate travelers, TripSync is the first tool designed with the small business traveler in mind."
TripSync is the first travel booking tool to provide a mobile platform with real-time air, hotel and car rental reservations and booking. With TripSync mobile, any traveler with a web-enabled PDA or smart phone has the unprecedented flexibility to book trips from practically anywhere. Now that mobile travel is actually here, travelers are free to snag fares and flights as they see them, without being chained to a desktop. To illustrate the usefulness of this feature, TripSync proposes the following scenario: It's 7:30pm at the airport, and you just found out your flight's been cancelled. 117 people are queued up at the gate, trying to get a new flight home or get a hotel room for the night. You realize that, by the time you get through the line, available seats will be gone. With Mobile Booking, you no longer have to worry about how you'll get home or where you'll stay for the night.
TripSync's new Book and Hold feature enables travelers to hold a reservation for 24 hours, without penalty for cancellation or payment required. This 24 hour window is the time for travel plans to be solidified and expenses to be approved. There is no commitment with Book and Hold, just the guarantee of the flights and car reservations for up to 24 hours. The reservation is held in the traveler's name, with price determined at the time of actual booking. Hotels can be booked and cancelled with no penalty up until the day of arrival (may vary by hotel). The Book and Hold option appears during booking when you review and confirm your itinerary.
TripSync's CC Itinerary feature allows you to route a copy of your itinerary to anyone with an email address. You can let your family or co-workers know about your travel plans. You can even establish a Trip Approver for your travel (such as a company administrator or supervisor), by entering their name and email address into the "Assistant" fields in the "Contact Info" section of Preferences. You invoke CC Itinerary when you review your itinerary, either in the booking process or when reviewing already-booked trips.
An ' Extras' button in the TripSync software provides access to information about airport delays, current weather, departures and arrivals, flight status, security wait times and airport information available whenever you need it.
Busy travellers can easily use TripSync to manage multiple trips and itineraries. Keep track of your trips, by giving each one an easy-to-remember name. One simply clicks on the "Add Trip" button or on any already named trip. When the trip is booked, one is able to refer to it by name. Later, when TripSync adds Trip Templates, a trip can be re-booked, just by referring to the name given it.
To obtain TripSync, users simply go to integrates and actively synchs "live data" itineraries into Outlook so flight, rental cars and even restaurant reservations are accessible and changeable, anytime, anywhere. To make a change to an itinerary, users drag and drop any part of their travel plans into a new date and time, and simply confirm their new travel options provided by TripSync. Business travelers can also automatically notify other travelers of itinerary changes with just one click, right from their calendar. With TripSync, small and mid-sized businesses benefit by dramatically reducing the time, resources and personnel needed to book, change and manage their travel. Most importantly, TripSync draws from the same travel sources as any other online travel site, so the best fares are all available at TripSync.
