Frommers.com Launches 'Arthur Frommer Travel Blog'
Hoboken, NJ (PRWEB) August 1, 2007 -- As part of its 50th Anniversary celebration, Frommer's announces a new online blog from travel industry veteran Arthur Frommer (www.frommers.com/blog).
In his signature witty style, Arthur writes about his favorite travel resources, travel scams to steer clear of, one-of-a-kind bargains, current events, last-minute deals, and more. He also reports from trips in progress, including his most recent visit to Sicily.
Some recent posts to Arthur's blog include:
? Europe and the sinking dollar: What do we do now? "I'm not sure that the full impact of recent exchange rates -- $2 for a British pound, $1.35 for a single Euro -- has yet sunk into the psyche of Americans planning a European trip."
? Carnival's China fiasco means big cruise bargains for the rest of us "A subsidiary of Carnival, Costa Cruises, had expected the newly-emergent Chinese middle class to flock onto the cruises of Asia offered aboard their shiny, new Costa Allegra, sailing from Shanghai and Hong Kong throughout 2007. They haven't."
? Let's spend a moment on medical tourism "I've learned from my weekly radio call-in show that the surest way to set off a barrage of hate mail is to suggest that Americans travel overseas for low-cost medical or dental treatment."
? In travel journalism, what's reality, what's fantasy? "No one can write intelligently about travel without knowing something about the incomes enjoyed by most Americans."
? Tired of those tense family get-togethers? Spend Thanksgiving in Europe. "... an increasing number [of Americans are seizing on cut-rate trans-Atlantic airfares and low-season hotel packages to European capitals."
Arthur's blog posts are linked directly into Frommers.com's 'Travel Talk Message Boards,' where they often lead to heated discussion among the board's active community of users.
