Spring Break Travel: Carolina Beach And Kure Beach, N.C. Are Two Warm Coastal Destinations
Carolina Beach, NC (PRWEB) March 23, 2008 -- Both Carolina Beach and Kure Beach are located on Pleasure Island, just east of Wilmington, N.C. Easily accessible by car from most major cities in the Midwest and Northeast, the two towns are best known as spots for summer family beach vacations.

Carolina Beach offers surf fishing, bottom fishing, shell fishing and deep sea fishing, thanks to its location at the convergence of the Cape Fear River, the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. The Carolina Beach Fishing Pier is a great place to drop a line; it's open to the public and has a tackle shop, grill and arcade.
At nearby Kure Beach, the fishing is just as good. In fact, the Kure Beach pier enjoys an international reputation among fishermen as one of the best places to pier fish for King mackerel, Spanish mackerel, sheepshead, flounder and blues.
Accommodations are so convenient that you can enjoy the pleasures of both towns when you visit. Choose from quaint family-owned beachfront motels, wonderful bed & breakfast establishments, or a towering oceanfront hotel.
Also, be sure to check out the restaurants that serve seafood fresh from the boat, or sample gourmet treats at one of several specialty shops. There are also many impressive historic sites to visit, as well as the North Carolina Aquarium.
